The European Commission, the French and Belgian competition authorities have clearly indicated that monitoring compliance by orders and professional associations with the competition rules is a priority. In addition to this announcement, the next publication by the French Authority of a study devoted to regulated professions, the next entry into force of the ECN + Directive which provide for enhanced sanctions, the transposition of the proportionality directive and the recent fines imposed in Belgium against a health order. These are all reasons to remain particularly attentive to competition law and especially to the risks that its lack of knowledge poses for regulated professions.
