Update on EU and Belgian FDI national security review mechanism

On December 11th, 2025, the political agreement was reached on the revision of the Regulation (EU) 2019/452. The new proposal will introduce a mandatory introduction of screening mechanisms by all MS, with a common minimum scope for national screening mechanisms. Ms. Tu will discuss these developments at both the EU and Belgian level. She will also share her views on the impact of this regulation on China EU inbound investments, combining her expertise on China related M&As.
