Brussels, September 1, 2024

DALDEWOLF, the Brussels-based law firm, announces a significant leadership change. Patrick De Wolf, who has served as Managing Partner since 2015, reflects: « The firm has grown substantially in size, expertise, and global reach. I am confident that governance tailored to the challenges of this growth will take us even further. » He expresses his satisfaction in passing the baton, as of September 1, 2024, to a young, talented, and visionary team. Patrick is confident that DALDEWOLF will continue to thrive and strengthen its leading position in business law, both in Belgium and internationally.

Three partners, Aude Mahy, Laetitia De Smet, and Yaël Spiegl, have been selected by the partners to assume the roles of Co-Managing Partners:

Aude Mahy specializes in Belgian and European food law. She leads the Food Law department and represents key players in the national and international food industry. Aude is the author of a leading reference book in this field and handles both regulatory and litigation matters.

Laetitia De Smet focuses on corporate law, with a practice centred on mergers and acquisitions, both in Belgium and abroad. She has developed a particular expertise in investment matters in Africa, especially in the energy and fintech sectors.

Yaël Spiegl heads the tax law team, specializing in indirect taxation. She advises and represents Belgian and foreign clients in the real estate, gaming, and automotive sectors. Yaël has numerous specialized publications and is a regular speaker at conferences.

The new leadership’s mandate will be guided by continuity and a forward-looking vision. They aim to continue the firm’s recent growth and diversification efforts, further strengthening DALDEWOLF’s position in domestic and international markets, particularly in Africa and Asia.

Laetitia De Smet emphasizes, « Guiding the firm’s growth while staying true to our values, particularly the independence of DALDEWOLF, will remain central to our mission. » She also highlights the importance of continuing to expand the firm’s international activities, including in the United States.

Aude Mahy adds, « Recognizing the challenges presented by artificial intelligence, sustainability, and other global issues, our primary focus will be on continuing to innovate to address our clients’ ever-changing needs. »

Yaël Spiegl notes, « These goals and challenges can only be accomplished through the dedication and expertise of our talented team members. We will remain committed to attracting and retaining the best talent. »

The new team is enthusiastic: « Under Patrick’s leadership, DALDEWOLF has established itself as a prominent force in business law, recognized for its excellence and innovation. We remain dedicated to expanding the firm while upholding the core values of excellence and integrity that have shaped our reputation. »

After three successive three-year terms managing the firm, Patrick De Wolf has been appointed Senior Partner. Freed from his daily management duties, he now plans to focus his experience on supporting the firm and continuing his work in the Corporate department and internationally, particularly at the DALDEWOLF office in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which he will continue to manage.
