Gilles LAGUESSE is a specialist lawyer in banking and credit law. He also practices financial law, banking litigation, and arbitration.

He mainly advises and represents systemic or smaller credit institutions, insurance companies, investment service companies and intermediaries, payment institutions, crowdfunding/crowdlending platforms, and intermediaries active in cryptocurrency trading.

The cases he handles relate to public and private banking regulations, compliance, credits, payment services and operations, investment operations (private banking, portfolio management, order execution, and investment advice), guarantees, banker and financial intermediary liability, seizures, and enforcement procedures.

Graduated in Law from the University of Liège, Gilles Laguesse has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2008. He also has special training in international business law (Maastricht University) and special training on the implications for companies of international commercial law. He practices in French, English, and Dutch.

As arbitrator, he is a member of the CEPANI and the BACS. Gilles Laguesse also teaches private law at the ICHEC Brussels School of Management. He has also been a lecturer at the University of Brussels (Solvay Business School) where he taught commercial law, as well as assistant in banking law at the University of Liège. He is the author of numerous scientific publications.
