Lawyer in general commercial law, real estate & construction law and insolvency law

DALDEWOLF is looking for a lawyer in general commercial law, real estate & construction law and insolvency law to strengthen its Brussels office.

THE TEAM

The candidate will work with the lawyers of DALDEWOLF’s business law practice, experienced professionals, to assist companies and other players in the deployment of their activities in the market and in particular in the negotiation and drafting of B-to-B and B-to-C contracts, including special contracts, commercial intermediation contracts, market practices, leases and in all situations faced by companies in difficulty (judicial reorganisation procedure, bankruptcy, restructuring).

The experience and legal skills of these lawyers are often combined with the firm’s other practices, including arbitration, complex litigation and mediation, EU law, tax law and employment law.

The economic law practice is distinguished by a strong knowledge of its clients’ sectors of activity, be it real estate and construction (developers, contractors, architects, retailers, purchasers, occupiers, etc.), distribution law (clothing, decoration, food, dietary products, cosmetics and beauty care, etc.) or non-profit sectors (research and development, ecology, cultural institutions, charities, lobbying, industry representation, etc.).

THE FIRM

DALDEWOLF is an independent law firm of international renown with about thirty lawyers in its Brussels office. Internationally, DALDEWOLF works with lawyers and accountants on all five continents.

DALDEWOLF is currently looking for a perfect bilingual French/Dutch associate to reinforce the activities of its economic law department. This position will involve the handling of various legal issues and contracts in a national or international context, both in terms of advice and litigation management. She or he will have the opportunity to communicate directly with clients and to participate proactively in cases, under the guidance of partners and senior lawyers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Master in Belgian law;
  • Qualification to practice as a lawyer in Belgium;
  • 3-6 years of experience in general civil and commercial law (law of obligations, contract law, commercial law, real estate and construction law, insolvency law) in a Belgian law firm;
  • Familiar with litigation and judicial expertise;
  • In addition to French, an excellent command of Dutch (level C1) and a very good knowledge of English (B2) are essential.
